OpenAI Operator browses the web for users

A browser-using agent that can fill forms, order groceries and book travel is released to users.

What happened and why it matters

Operator (Computer-Using Agent) scored 38% on OSWorld and 58% on WebArena — state of the art at the time but well short of humans. It made general web agents a consumer product.
